The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 has been officially announced. The cash-rich league will take place from September 19 to November 10. However, the bigger talking point has been BCCI's decision to retain the Chinese sponsors for the tournament despite the recent souring of relations between the two countries owing to the Galwan Valley clash.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly come up with a tentative schedule for the Indian Premier League (IPL). The BCCI is hopeful of hosting the event from September 26 to November 8.

The 2020 edition of the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL) could be held entirety in the UAE if all things fall into place. According to ESPNcricinfo, the BCCI is looking at a September 26 to November 7 window. However, things are likely to be finalised after the ICC takes a decision on the postponement of the 2020 T20 World Cup scheduled to be held in Australia from October 18 to November 15.

Even as the Coronavirus pandemic continues to wreck havoc in India, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has stated that every possible angle is being explored to try and see if the tournament can go ahead this year. Ganguly added that the possibility of holding the tournament in front of empty stands is also being considered seriously.

As widely predicted, the 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to be cancelled in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic that is getting worse by the day. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had earlier postponed the start of the tournament from March 29 to April 15. However, under the current circumstances, it is highly unlikely that the IPL will go ahead this year.

The IPL Governing Council will meet tomorrow March 14 to decide on the fate of IPL 2020 in the wake of the Coronavirus outbreak throughout the world. As per the latest development, foreign players will not be able to feature in the tournament till April 15 due to suspension of visas in India.

Following the completion of the IPL 2020 auctions last month, the cricket world waits with baited breath for the beginning of IPL 13, scheduled to begin this March.
